WOW 4-H Unicycle Club has been performing for the past 37 years. Over the years, the riders’ ages have ranged from 3 to 77 and the unicycles they ride vary from 3 to 8 feet tall. Unique unicycles such as a stacked 3-wheel unicycle and a “zig-zag” unicycle are popular with the crowds. We also feature unicyclists who juggle and others who jump rope while riding. In addition to performing in 20 to 25 parades and shows each year, members also participate in 4-H activities.

The WOW 4-H Unicycle Club placed 1st in the Parade Competition at the 2007 North American Unicycling Championships and Convention (NAUCC) in Saline, Michigan, in July 2007. This event draws clubs from the United States and Canada for various types of unicycle competitions.

Our unicycle club was voted the Best Specialty Unit in the 2007 Kentucky Derby Festival Pegasus Parade in Louisville, Kentucky, in May 2007.

Past parade performances include the Indy 500 Festival Parade in 2003; Chicago State Street Parade in 2003; the Centerville 4th of July Parade in 2005 and 2007, the Ohio State Fair Parade from 2003 to 2005, and Christmas Holiday Parades in Dayton, Toledo, Bowling Green, Wayne, and Fostoria.

In 2007 alone, we rode in parades at local festivals including the Versailles Poultry Days Festival, Forest Tree Town Festival, Carey Fest, Marion Popcorn Festival, Waterville Roche de Boeuf Festival, Mount Blanchard Pumpkin Festival, Wayne Prairie Depot Day Festival, and the Findlay and Fostoria Halloween Parades.

The WOW 4-H Unicycle club is based in Bowling Green and Findlay. Its members are mostly from Northwestern Ohio. WOW is a group of people of all ages and abilities who have a like interest in riding unicycles. Many members also combine juggling with their unicycling.

WOW holds an annual awards banquet in December or January each year. A potluck is followed by an awards ceremony. Awards are given to the most valuable and most improved unicyclists, best attendance, outstanding 4-H members, and high point winners from competitions. First year 4-H certificates are also presented at this time.
